Big news my friends! I am the 2018 Beaverton Arts Commission Chair. When I interviewed in late 2015 to be on the Arts Commission, I just thought – “Oh, this will be a perfect way to meet fellow art lovers around my [new] home town.” To my surprise (but apparently not to those around me), I pursued a seat as Vice Chair, and now in my third year, I ran to be the Chair. And I was elected!

Sure it’s volunteer, but being a Commissioner is no easy task. We are the advisory arm for Beaverton’s Arts Program. We provide insight and help as liaisons to relay community needs. City staff then draw from this information as they develop arts programming. I’m really looking forward to another year of working with my fellow Commissioners and the incredible City staff on celebrating creative awareness within our community.
